If the answer is YES then you are in luck. There are tons of different ways that you can begin earning money through your blog, but it can be hard to figure it all out when you are just starting out. That’s why I am here to help you.
I struggled to figure out just how other bloggers were making money from their blogs for nearly a year. I often wondered what their secrets were and what I needed to do to turn my blog into a full-time career.
But once I finally started learning how to monetize my blog, everything sort of fell into place. I continued to learn more each and every day and in turn, gained more experience and earned more money.

Can you Make Money from Sponsored Blog Posts?
Yes! One of my favorite ways to earn money through my blog is through sponsored blog posts.
A Sponsored Blog Post is when a company or brand pays you to review their product or service and give your honest opinion in a blog post.
The reason that companies and brands will pay to you to write blog posts about their product or service is that bloggers are able to reach numerous potential buyers through their blogs. Think about it. When you see someone that you trust using a new product, it makes you think about giving it a try as well.
And it’s by building this trust and giving your honest opinion that your readers know whether they want to make a purchase for themselves.
Paid of Free Product / Service Opportunities
There are generally two different types of sponsored opportunities. There are sponsored opportunities that offer payment once you complete the approved blog post and there are sponsored opportunities that offer a free product or service in exchange for you reviewing the product and writing an approved blog post.
I have completed both types of sponsored posts and there are good things about both. For example, I was happy to write out this fun post about my son’s new toddler bed and receive the mattress to review and keep as payment. It just so happened that at the time I really wanted the product so I was happy to work for the item.
Here is another blog post that I wrote about a diaper bag which just happened to be both a paid and free product sponsored post which was a win-win.
Honestly, every single sponsored opportunity is different, but you have to choose an opportunity that is a great fit for you. Anytime you are considering a sponsored opportunity, always remember to stay within your niche.
So if you are a mommy blogger and you are asked to review a new baby carrier – that’s a great fit! It is crucial to keep the same theme for your audience.
Another benefit of sponsored blog posts is that they help you to communicate and build relationships with brands.
Now, Where can I find Sponsored Opportunities?
The simplest way to find sponsored opportunities as a blogger is through sponsorship networking sites that allow brands to post their opportunities for bloggers to apply to.
It really is pretty easy. You sign up, fill in your blog information and most sites either list available opportunities or contact you if they feel your blog would be a good fit for the opportunity.
Here are some of my favorite places to find sponsored opportunities as a blogger.
- IZEA
- Influence Central
- Linqia
- Massive Sway
- Tomoson
- SheSpeaks
- Activate by Bloglovin’
- Blog Meets Brand
- Clever Girls Collective
So as you can see, there are several sites out there where you can find sponsored opportunities. These networking sites are helpful at being a type of “middleman” for the blogger and brand or company.
The benefits of having the networking site are that they ensure that both parties follow up on their end. Meaning that the blogger accurately completes the work and that the company sends out the payment.
However, there have been several times where a company has reached out and contacted me to complete a sponsored blog post for them.
Most of the time, they will offer a free product in return for the blog post, but it is completely up to each individual blogger if it is worth the time and also fits into your niche.
As a blogger, you can also reach out to companies and brands and offer to write a sponsored blog post in return for a set payment amount. This is called cold pitching.
So if there is a company that you really truly love and want to work with, it doesn’t hurt to shoot them an email asking if they want to work with you. Just keep in mind that most brands and companies receive hundreds of emails every single day so try to make your email short and sweet to help them read completely through it.
Lastly, don’t be discouraged if you reach out to a brand and don’t hear anything back. This happens often. It is nothing personal. Many brands might not take the time to respond due to the number of emails that they receive. Just move on and reach out to someone new.
Working with brands can be so much fun. I have loved working with companies and trying out new products with my family. This is just another amazing thing about becoming a blogger.
